THE OPHTHALMIC NURSES GROUP  
   

The group was founded on 3rd June 1995 and was inaugurated on 3rd November, 1995 at Korle - Bu Accra. The group numbered 170 as at November 1997 but now have a membership of 288.

 

The present executive of the group are:

Dorothy Fiadoyor - Treasurer
Victoria Noble-Tetteh - Financial secretary
Sampson Yalley - PRO

Stella Antwi–Boasiako - Ex-officio member
Comfort Obuam-Sekyi - Ex-officio member

 

The paramount aim of the group is to promote good eye health for all people living in Ghana. The group successfully had its Annual General Meeting (AGM). After a long period of dormancy since 1997, on November 6, 2009 under the theme “The Role of the Ophthalmic Nurse in the prevention of blindness”. This brought together ophthalmic nurses all over the country to the GRNA secretariat in Accra. Joshua Komla Agotse
